This break I’ve spent most of the time watching documentary after documentary, furiously taking notes and saving reference images. I’m working on something pretty cool, I think, and very unique. I haven’t done much in terms of concepts, but I will be jumping into it more shortly. Once I’ve drawn up some of the other concepts, it’ll be clear what I’m working on – but for now – have some chimps…
I recently saw Waiting for Superman. I hilghy recommend it. A fairly disturbing documentary on the current state of education. I don’t object to good teachers being rewarded for quality work, but why should marginal or incompetent teachers be given tenure? Why should students not have access to quality education because schools can’t get rid of poor teachers?Teaching is a noble profession. I have a degree in education. But teachers are human, and are just as susceptible to wanting what’s best for themselves as those in the private sector. Perhaps the better teachers should challenge the unions that shelter their incompetent colleagues.
